The polar museum of Canterbury

walt: we learnt a lot about the animals that live in the Arctic and how they adapt to the weather there.

On Friday our class went to the museum to learn about polar animals that live in the Arctic and their adaption to their habitat.

When we got to the museum it was exciting.  Our first activity was a scavenger hunt in the museum we had to search for different things all over the place. One part we looked at was the mummies and we had to write down what we would like to have in our in our mummy coffin if we were mummified i choose a xbox one, Playstation 4 and some Burger king . If it was real i think i would probably choose some better things that mean more to me.  We did a few more activities on the scavenger hunt and then went to have lunch we played tag and tried to climb to the top of the tree.

The best thing we learnt about was the polar animals and their adaption to how things change, i learnt about Lemmings and how in the winter they change their colour to white and in the summer they change to brown.  They also grow harder claws in the winter so they can smash threw the ice.  There were some really cool quizzes on the computers and a life size polar bear statue which was standing up tall.  I think it was amazing how the animals can change the way they do. We learnt a lot from the posters on the wall and Anthony who works there it was a fun day.Image result for picture of canterbury museum artic display
